You can step aboard a full size pirate ship in San Diego! The HMS Surprise is a 179-foot 24 gun frigate replica used in the movie “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”. The Maritime Museum has restored her to seaworthy condition and sails her several times a year.
I’ve never toured that one before. Look at how blue the sky is! The weather has been so wonderful, we’re in for a fantastic weekend!

I really like these photos.
They are a reminder of all the boats I used to admire when I was younger.
I wrote in my Memories blog about the roads of my youth and how they were to travel in the winter time.

I liked the books and thought movie was good. Sadly I live in UK so I may never get to visit HMS Surprise.
