Reach out to those in need during Christmas

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: — washaw @ 6:01 am

Christmas is an especially difficult time for some people.  Two years ago I was in the hospital.  It meant so much to have visitors.  This year I want to give-back by reaching out to someone in need.  Many churches have a “prayer quilt” ministry that reaches out to those in need throughout the year.  My daughter (on left) serves at Foothills UMC.  They have a very active prayer quilt ministry.

  1. What a wonderful organization. I love that concept of a prayer with each knot.

I was so sad to read that Kody ended up passing away at 14.

I notice that when you visit my blog your address is La Mesa. I grew up in El Cajon, graduated from ECVHS. My husband is from La Mesa.

We also lived in La Mesa for a few years before we left the state. In the old part of La Mesa, Acacia Ave. Love that area!

My family is still in El Cajon.

  2. What a neat idea, and beautiful quilts! You can see the prayer knots on the one your daughter is holding. Nice post!

  3. We have a Prayer Shawl ministry and knitting is a lot of work but a quilt is a huge committment, it just amazes me that anyone would do that much work.
