Giant flowering tree near the Hall of Champions

This giant horticultural delight, an interesting find during our Sunday walk in Balboa Park, is located near the Hall of Champions.   The blooms are cataloupe size.   Anyone know what it is called?

  2. Big as cantaloupes? I wouldn’t get too close, it’s liable to fall off and knock you out.

  3. Wow! Looks like those Christmas light ornaments people hang from their trees in SD. But real! And pink! I love it!
