Charles Darwin on his voyage in the 1830s noticed that each of the 13 Galápagos Islands had a slightly different subspecies of these beautiful turtles. I can’t tell them apart. Way to go Charles!

  1. Those are beautiful tortoises. Good to know they are present in the San Diego zoo.

The Galapagos Islands are the most incredible living museum of evolutionary changes, with a huge variety of exotic species (birds, land animals, plants) and landscapes not seen anywhere else.
